Where to begin? There’s so much to talk about. Okay, let’s start at the beginning. As with every film production project I’ve been involved with, I find myself in the semi-relaxed segment we like to call pre-production. The EP (Executive Producer), Dan, The lead writer, Danielle, and myself, are getting input from the novel’s author Shaun Jeffrey, developing script sequences, preparing for casting, looking for music, putting together prop lists, nailing down locations, and, in general, getting ready to start the production motor. There’s a lot to do in pre-production, but as I say, this is as relaxed as a production gets. When cameras roll in September, we’ll be as busy as a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest.
I’m thoroughly enjoying working with EP Dan, Danielle, and Shaun. They really are as great a bunch of individuals as you’d ever want to work with on a production. Their open-minded, easy-going, and have a lot of great ideas. I’m really looking forward to working on this film with them from beginning to end.
For those wanting a sneak peak at the film, you should read Shaun’s book. I’ve read it cover to cover a couple of times now. Not only is it a great read, but it helps keep me sharp for production. Casting is coming soon, May 16th and 23rd. We hope to announce our actors within a week after that.
Well, I’ve got to get back to it. I will attempt to post a journal entry about production at least once or twice a week.
